The Aoyue 9000A is an ingenuous and sophisticated rework system. Micro BGA assemblies from mobile phones, computers, telephones and game consoles can be processed safely and effectively by using this performant station. Handling and operation are simple to come to grips with. This station enables the user high-performance rework applications on modern systems like: BGAs, BGAs SMDs, SMT connectors without overheating these components. The station uses heat wave technology (IR) instead of the conventional hot air. the palcement of the components is achieved without using protective shield or other tools because no air flow is used for soldering. By non-contact measurement the soldering and desoldering temperature is determined (at the IR-light source and the quartz preheater), simple, fast and safe. After being sucessfully soldered out BGAs can be soldered again in place. No expensive nozzles are needed, the unit is complete and fully operational. Due to the adjustable PC-board surface preheater the user can avoid misplacing the components or their distortion. Using this rework system is as simple as placing components on an empty pc board. The built-in vacuum placer facilitates the removal of the components to be desoldered.
Operating mode of Aoyue Infrared Soldering Stations
The heating of the components results from the absorption der IR-radiation. Because the metal connections of the components only have a low absorption, that is they reflect the IR-radiation, the heat has to be conveyed to the soldering points mainly over the component itself, over the PC board which is also heated and the surrounding air. For this reason one works with both radiators (Preheater from the underside and IR-light from the upper side ), to heat or preheat the whole surrounding area of the soldering point. The temperature of the single components can vary greatly. The absorption depends on the material and the wave-length and this in turn depends on the temperature of the radiator. The heating of large and thicker SMDs is slower than that of small and thin SMDs
The infra-red soldering has the following advantaged and disadvantages. Advantages: • Simultaneous soldering process with high efficiency • Efficient and particularly suitable for serial products • Easy handlind of the IR-unit, user-friendly • Temperature of the largest SMDs (high pin count ICs) is the lowest Disadvantages:: • Temperature profile necessary. • Temperature of the single components can vary significantly. Small SMDs, for example single semiconductors can be easily overheated
